Because Pocketspend operates with local data storage, we do NOT collect:

  • Your financial transactions or account balances
  • Investment portfolio details or SIP information
  • Subscription or expense data
  • Net worth calculations or financial analytics
  • Personal financial goals or budgets
  • Bank account information or payment details

3. Information We May Collect

We only collect minimal, non-financial information necessary for app functionality:

App Usage Analytics

  • App crashes and performance metrics
  • Feature usage statistics (anonymized)
  • Device type and operating system version

Subscription Information

  • App Store purchase receipts (managed by Apple/Google)
  • Subscription status and plan type
  • Payment processing (handled by app stores, not us)

Support Communications

  • Email address when you contact support
  • Support ticket information
  • Feedback and feature requests

4. How Your Data Stays Private

🏠 Local Database Storage

All financial data is stored locally on your device using Expo SQLite database. This secure database remains entirely on your device and is never transmitted to external servers.

🔐 No Cloud Sync

We don't use cloud storage services. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

🚫 No Third-Party Access

We don't share data with analytics services, advertisers, or any third-party financial services.

✋ No Data Mining

We don't analyze your spending patterns or financial behavior for any commercial purposes.

5. Technical Implementation

🔧 Database Technology

Pocketspend uses Expo SQLite as the underlying database technology for secure local storage:

  • Local-only storage: SQLite database files remain entirely on your device
  • Industry-standard security: SQLite is widely used and trusted by major applications
  • No external dependencies: Database operations happen offline without network access
  • Data integrity: ACID compliance ensures your financial data remains consistent and reliable
  • Efficient performance: Optimized for mobile devices with minimal resource usage
  • Cross-platform compatibility: Same secure storage mechanism on both Android and iOS

📱 What this means for you:

Your financial data is stored in a secure SQLite database that exists only on your device. Even if we wanted to access your data, we technically cannot because it never leaves your phone or tablet.

6. Multiple Profiles Privacy

When using multiple profiles within the app:

  • Each profile's data is separately stored and isolated
  • Profile switching happens entirely on your device
  • We cannot see or access any profile information
  • Family sharing features work through device-level sharing only

7. Data Backup and Recovery

⚠️ Important Notice

Since we store data locally, YOU are responsible for backing up your financial data. We recommend:

  • Regular device backups through your phone's built-in backup system
  • Exporting important data periodically using our export feature
  • Keeping your device secure with passwords/biometric locks

8. App Store Privacy

App purchases are processed by:

  • Google Play Store: Currently available - Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store: Coming soon - Will be subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
  • We receive only purchase confirmation, not payment details

9. Children's Privacy

Pocketspend is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

10. International Users

Since all data is stored locally on your device, international privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) are naturally complied with - - we simply don't have access to your personal financial data.

11. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify users of any material changes through the app or our website.
